Yes, I bought Dogecoin! and i spent it at BaskinRobbins!!!

Its our fifth post in the "I did what with crypto" series...
In our first post (click here)... we bought skittles from a physical store
In our second post (click here)... we went online shopping
In our third post (click here)... we paid rent to my landlord..
In our fourth post (click here)... we donated to the red cross
and now... we're spending crypto at BaskinRobbins
Just to clear the air... I'm a neutral observer with regard to DOGE and i'm not too interested in arguing about if its worth investing in or not.....But i'm open to using any crypto that is useful... and in this case... i was able to Spend DOGE at BaskinRobbins. So I did and lived to tell the story...
My Ingredients
the SPEDN App
DOGE Coin (or any other crypto accepted on the app)
A wallet (in my case Coinbase) where you can purchase and send dogecoin
The rest of the story - How it works
1. First, I needed to acquire DOGEcoin. I did this by purchasing it on Coinbase. But you can use any exchange that sells DogeCoin, it doesn't have to be Coinbase.
Note that the SPEDN app allows you to spend other cryptos including bitcoin, bitcoin cash, ether, Gemini Dollar, Litecoin, Zcash... i just chose to spend Dogecoin cause i thought it would be fun.
2. Second, I needed to send DOGEcoin to my SPEDN account. This was pretty easy as, after downloading the app onto my phone, i created an account and then selected "Add Funds." It asked which crypto i wanted to add, I selected Dogecoin and it provided me an address. This was the address i pasted into my coinbase wallet.
3. Third, I went to Baskin Robbins chose my milkshake and showed them an appropriate QR code from the SPEDN App.. They simply scanned the QR code code and it withdrew the equivalent US Dollars from my Dogecoin balance
4. Finally, I got my milkshake and my receipt... and the app showed my transaction history and remaining Dogecoin balance.
So what?
This is actually the "purest" way to spend crypto I have used. I call it purest because, i simply Buy crypto, and i spend it without worrying about conversions or anything of that nature. This QR code method is also way easier than swiping a debit, credit card or exchanging cash!
How it needs to get better?
Simple - More merchants and More cryptos
More merchants... need to hop on the SPEDN/Flexa Network. Flexa is the network that supports this type of transacting
More cryptos.... need to be added to the SPEDN App. Would be great to see USDC, and USDT on this.
